vacation is over. waaa!

tomorrow will be the first day back at work after a long vacation, and i am not looking forward to it. i like my job & all that, but it would be nice to be on vacation all the time. and, it's always so hectic after vacation, getting back into the swing of things. whine whine whine. this is why i like to take vacation near holidays so that my coming back aligns with others coming back from a holiday. everyone can be out of wack together.

i have not run for an entire week - since the marathon. i could use the rest, but i am starting to feel kind of like a slug. i was going to go run today, but now there is this birthday party thing that we have to go to. that's right - i do not want to go. the party will be boring. they will have a kind of cake i don't like. it's late in the day when we should be having supper.

enough whining. need to shape things up around here. infuse some humor. explore some historical or philosophical topics. this place is boring. i blame the lack of running.

why i am a druid

in case you didn't hear the horrific news, a walmart employee in nyc was trampled to death just before 5am today - the crowds waiting for the doors to open at 5 could wait no longer, and they broke down the doors, trampling employees & fellow shoppers on their insatiable quest for a bargain. when the announcement was made that an employee had been killed, and the store would be cleared, some shoppers balked, saying i been waiting on line here all night. seriously, c'mon people.

retailers have successfully morphed christmas into commercemas, convincing christians that the way to express their love for their saviour & one another is to exchange material possessions. this is wrong on so many levels it is difficult to begin to explain the wrongness. non-christians, especially agnostics and atheists, have been drawn into the seasonal frenzy of gift giving. those who do not believe in the meaning of christmas -- the birth of jesus -- still find comfort in the thought of a once-yearly chance to gain or earn or buy the love of family & friends. or, to make up for the lack of love shared by sharing material items.

everyone proclaims it is a season of love, sharing, warmth, family, generosity, friends, good times, and so on -- when in reality, it is a season of worry - are the gifts good enough? the house clean enough? the decorations festive enough? the clothing bright enough? how many gifts do i need to have ready for the folks who will show up with a gift for me? yeah, maybe we should learn to let others give us things once in a while, and just truly appreciate it, showing our sincere thanks. okay, right... i know... if we don't have a gift to give in return, no measure of thankfulness will measure up.

and, what about the tragedy of hanukkah? this festival of lights - a midwinter celebration of joy in the miracle of a god who always provides - a time to share fried foods with family & friends by warm candlelight & hearth - this wonderful, simple holiday has been dragged along in the wake of commercemas and corrupted beyond recognition.

shame on christians for corrupting their own holy day -- and double shame for corrupting the holy days of others.

i am thankful for...

... my old man. today's his b'day, and i cannot imagine a better match for me in all the world. mini-me & my old man's mom, loretta lynn, are disconcerted when we bicker, but they don't get it. it's not really bickering. it's a closeness we share - a place only he & i can go together. it's a bonding thing. yeah, you probably wouldn't understand.

... mini-me. what can i say? she's da bomb.

... other family, local friends, faraway friends, friends from soccer, friends from brigadoon.

... clean running water, 4 walls & a roof, modern appliances, indoor plumbing, ample food, warm bed.

... modern medicine, my own & my family's health.

... life in the u-s-a.

... music.

... literacy.

... a job i enjoy.

... luxuries, caffeine, computer, books, library, extra sweaters, 2 pairs of gloves, funny socks, pink nail polish, twizzlers, canoes, harmonica, babushka dolls, chapstick, nintindo-ds, scallops, sharpies, kleenex, tivo, television, white tees & chuck taylors, stand up comedy, sports, tree houses, timex mystery answer watch, hand lotion, mountains, prairies, oceans white with foam....

feeling distinctly useless today - counting on friday for redemption.

today we are going to see beavis!! and, his parents. also, need to make a cake for tomorrow. meanwhile, i have not cleaned out the closet or balanced the checkbook. vacation much? sheesh. need to do some real work. like, clean out the closet & balance the checkbook. but, i would rather sit on my rear and play on the computer & watch c-s-i and maybe read my book. maybe i will balance the checkbook on friday. yeah! that's the ticket. put it off till friday. good call!

25 November 2008

currently

currently, reading grisham's the appeal and wondering how accurate are his descriptions of mississippi. concurrently, feeling sleepy & contemplating a nap. got up early b/c my old man had to be at work. made some nanner bread, did some laundry & the dishes. filed some papers & receipts. relatively productive. i think i deserve a nap. what do you think? yeah? well, who asked ya?! oh... right....

24 November 2008

it's vacation time.

today, tomorrow, wednesday - i am on vacation. looks like mini-me is coming home tomorrow, and beavis is coming to visit on wednesday. thursday is thanksgiving with the fambly, and ::sigh:: that is not always as fun as it could be. speedy will not be here this year b/c she & junior ostensibly broke up. for two people that broke up, they spend a lot of time together. mini-me will be there, of course, but if speedy is not there, that means that mini-me has the full burden of my boredom, b/c i am not really good at disguising it, mostly b/c i don't try. that's my maturity pouring through, yes it is.

after thanksgiving comes christmas, and i haven't made a christmas list yet. that is - a list of the things i want to get for people, not from people, ya doof. the problem with the list is coordinating it with my old man, and we are both really sort of seat-of-the-pants shoppers. so, working together is a challenge b/c neither of us really has a plan at all.

speaking of challenges, i did run a marathon yesterday. i ran it & jogged it & walked it. i did not crawl or actually sit down, so bonus to me for that, eh? haha! i finished in a respectable time considering my calf did not like the downhills & my lungs did not like the uphills, and there was general & overall confusion, if not downright rebellion, from many parts of my body. however, i survived & am now determined to get back in shape so that i can do these things without so much needless suffering. did i mention my garmin is on its last legs? i am concerned about how difficult it is to get it to take a charge. ::sigh:: i hope it hangs in there a while longer. i will miss it.

22 November 2008

i bore you bore he she it bore we bore you bore they bore even more

so there i was on vacation all day yesterday and couldn't think of a thing to write. cleaned the house, took at nap, went to see mini-me sing & sign. did i mention she is a talented little bundle of talent? could have written about that, eh? okay, here is what i have to say - mini-me is a talented little bundle of talent! today, we came on back home & so far i have had 3 bagels. 1 at panera & 2 from panera at home. are bagels the new graham cracker? it is possible, but i predict graham crackers in my future this evening. b/c i am carb loading. b/c i am running a marathon tomorrow. heh heh. okay, might be more like jogging & walking, and really, the point at this point is to finish. i will let you know tomorrow how that goes. right now, i think i will go unpack our bag from the overnight trip.

20 November 2008

thursday is my friday b/c i am on vacation tomorry.

i need a 12-step program for graham crackers. seriously. cannot. get. enough. what is the dealio? they are like crack to me. or, crackERS. hahaha! eh-hrm. just here lately maybe the past 2 or 3 wks, been eating the hula out of the grahamies. what is IN these things?

you know the big-3 car makers are asking for bailout money? you know they flew over there to d.c. in private jets? why didn't they all pile in a hummer and sling on over there, eh? you know that auto workers make $57/hr? maybe not every one of them, but hey, all i know is what i heard on the radio - npr - and they said that auto workers make $57/hr. anyway - here comes the worst of it -- there is money available for the automakers to tap into. yes, already put aside. no, not part of the bailout. this money is designated to provide them with the means to make more fuel-efficient cars. but, they don't want all those strings attached. they just want some free bailout money. criminy. on the one hand, who can blame them - everyone else is getting some, but on the other hand, where is it going to stop?

possibly going down the road to the high school to watch the talent show b/c my old man substitute teaches at the jr high school, and one of the jr high school girls is going to sing in the talent show, and she told my old man her parents always make excuses for not coming to see her sing, and he felt bad for her, and so we might go watch her sing. odd, really, if you asked me. but, whatevs.

to run or not to run

to run, or not to run: that is the question:
whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of outrageous distance,
or to take legs against a sea of faddists,
and by opposing best them? to run: to walk;
no more; and by a walk to say we end
the heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
that knees are heir to, 'tis a consummation
devoutly to be wish'd. to run, to walk;
to walk: perchance to chafe: ay, there's the rub;
for in that marathon what dreams may come
when we have shuffled off that distant hill,
must give us pause: there's the respect
that makes calamity of such long runs;
for who would bear the blisters borne of time,
the achilles' wrong, the hamstring's contumely,
the pangs of i.t. band, the rainy day,
the insolence of sub-elites, the spurns
that patient plodding with the ipod brings.
when a runner pause, a thirst to slake
with accelerade? who would be there,
to grunt and sweat over a weary course,
but that the dread of something afterwards,
the spenco shoe from which a smell emits
no traveller desires, but force the will
and make us rather bear those ills we have
than to face the morning knowing that
karmaphobes and cowards are we all;
and thus the native hue of resolution
appears at every turn, at every thought.
oh, enterprise of great pith and moment,
we accept the challenge laid by you.
hold tight the name of action. - run you now!
when the distance is at last complete
be memories of all your pain forgot.

18 November 2008

i forgot my pants.

officelady - [overly cheerful, yet concerned] knock! knock! hey, good morning! can i ast you a question? bossman said i need to make 14 copies of this. do you think i need to make 14 copies of this?

me - [patiently] if bossman said to, then yes.

officelady - [concerned, supposably about needless waste of trees] look how many pages it is.

me - [patiently] yes, i see.

officelady - [concerned] he said they are going to go over this at the meeting.

me - [patience waning, unsure what the point is] okay.

officelady - [concerned] this is not going to fit in those folders. do you think i should get notebooks?

me - [patience gone - pause]

officelady - [randomly changing tracks] oh! do you notice anything different about me?

me - [looking her over] no.

officelady - i forgot my pants! [performing curtsy while holding out leg of pant, clearly on body]

me - [pause - looking at pants which are patently on officelady & realizing they are some type of workout pant]

officelady - [not noticing my silence] i called my son and told him he needed to bring me my pants. i told him - i bring you your basketball shoes and your soccer stuff all the time and now it is your turn. bring me my pants. he said - i don't believe this! hahaha!! [walking away]

me - [not believing this]

17 November 2008

hey - how you?

so, you're walking own the hall, and you see someone coming the other way, and you have a solid 7-10 seconds to get ready to say hello. where i work, it usually goes something like this -

person 1: hey!
person 2: hey - how you?
person 1: good - you?
person 2: pretty good.

you'll occasionally get some variations in the person 1 answer. such as -

person 1: hey!
person 2: hey - how you?
person 1: fine - you?
OR
person 1: wonderful - you?
OR
person 1: so far, so good - you?
OR
person 1: doin' allright - you?

but, there are always a few original types in the bunch. there's one guy who always manages to be person 1, does not say hey, and always answers - copacetic. right, big guy. whatevs. i mean, he clearly thinks he is unique & fresh, but it is only tired.

person 1: hello.
person 2: hey - how you?
person 1: copacetic.
person 2: uh....

see, he does not ask how you are doing & simply leaves you with is copacetic. uh-huh, okay, fine. there are a few people who delightfully answer thusly:

person 1: hey!
person 2: hey - how you?
person 1: better than i deserve!!!
person 2: uh....

they clearly are channelling dave ramsey, and just as clearly, they shut down the response by not asking back. the phrase better than i deserve!!! is annoying enough when ol' dave delivers it, but when the amateurs chime in, it's just pathetic. take my advice & do not borry this phrase. stick with the classics. you can be pretty good, okay, wonderful, fine. you can be doin' good, glad it's friday, allright, or even undecided if you have not had your coffee yet.

on the other hand, you are welcome to be completely fresh & original. tell me you are fresh as a daisy, glad it's monday, keeping secrets, high on life, even feelin' groovy. today, i had a convo with a coworker that went like this:

him: hey!
me: hey - how you?
him: cool.
me: uh....

but, not a bad uh...., more of a good uh..... more like, a surprised uh..... i did manage to smile, too, despite my surprise, b/c i thought it was a worthy response. now, this guy's direct coworkers might have heard his cool one too many times, but to me, it was market fresh & delicious.

stop, drop, & roll

vandy wins. titans win. crappy green team wins! we are the champeens! we are the champeens! no time for losers cause we are the champeens of the world! or, of the local rec soccer league. whatevs.

currently reading the merchant of death, #1 in the pendragon series by d.j. machale. it's okay - fairly well written. the plot holds together. the characters are realistic. the dialog is solid enough. the problem is that i don't like this kind of book. it's about a group of folks called travelers who travel through time & space via "flumes" and right the wrongs of the universe. this kid, bobby pendragon, is a traveler and doesn't know it before the story begins. it's about his learning what his role is. so, for this genre, it's a good book. i probably won't read the whole series, though.

the halftime show of superbowl xliii - 1 february 2009 - will be bruce springsteen. i am not a huge bruce fan. most of his songs sound the same to me, but i am sure he will put on a good show.

15 November 2008

another saturday night

it's been a busy day, and i am tired, and it's only 7:48PM, and i want to go to bed, and i also want to watch tv, and we are watching ut-k versus ut-chatt in basketball, and we've got vandy versus kentucky football on the tivo, and i don't think i am going to be able to watch all this sport stuff.

i am also still conflicted about the game tomorrow. to play or not to play.

::sigh::

14 November 2008

my calf is feeling much better. thank you for asking.

still conflicted about the game sunday. no decision yet.

had supper w/ elvis, priscilla, and beavis. and, yes, it was quite fun. he qualifies as the cutest baby who is a baby right now. not to be confused with anyone who used to be a baby and is no longer a baby and was the cutest baby ever in the world. heh heh. right.

about to watch the shuttle take off. have not watched a shuttle take off since that one sploded. hrm. when they show the pictures of the shuttle before launch, it looks fake. we are so used to seeing all kinds of special effects in the movies, and the better the effects are, the less vivid real life seems. odd.

13 November 2008

if the snowsuit is too short, your ankles will be cold.

glanced at this headline -- "A Congressional panel grilled five of the world's richest and most powerful hedge fund managers Thursday" -- and thought it said something about congress having grilled cheese sammiches. huh?

so this weekend is the end-of-season soccer tourney, and my calf is still questionable, but also... i am conflicted b/c i have a marathon on 23 novembre, and if i get hurt or hurt-worse at soccer, how will i even begin the marathon? i mean, the 'thon is already going to involve some walking b/c i am out of shape, but if i am also injured, then what will it be like? but, the team is counting on me - soccer is a team sport after all. not that i am brandi chastain or anything, but do i need to repeat that it is a team sport? if i am not actually injured, i feel selfish not playing b/c i have something planned for the following week. but, then, if i get hurt-worse, i will be mad at myself & disappointed. advice?

this weekend - elvis, priscilla, & beavis are coming to town, and looks like saturday night i will be babysitting the beav. oh, yeah! they are coming to town for a funeral, but the funeree was quite old, and had a good life, and was ready to move along to the next phase, so it's not like totally waa-waa sad. sombre, maybe, but not weeping & gnashing teeth. point is - should be fine to have some fun with the folks, eh? i say yeah, and you should, too!

12 November 2008

radio television books - it's a media explosion

thith may not be very nithe or politically correct to thay, but people with thpeech impedimentth thhould not be allowed to thpeak on the radio. tonight, on the local public radio thtation, a female reporter with a lithp wath reporting, and the lithp wath very dithtracting. i had to turn the thound down.

watching the country music awards on teevee and would like to say that once again, nashville has proved that it cannot put on a live national production with well-mixed music. they do not have the voices turned up enough somehow, and the singers are getting drowned out by the music. poor li'l taylor swift trying to sing that romeo & juliet song, and you know she is barely hangin' in there b/c it is a tough song - the last thing they need to do is shortchange her sound. now, here's kid rock singing that sweet home bamalama remake song, and it just sounds flat. i think they don't have the mics for the singers set to echo or whatever you call it. you know how a mic can make you sound like you are singing in a superiorly accoustic tiled room, and sometimes they can deaden your voice flat? well, these mics are flattening the voices. where are all the good sound mixers, and why are none of them in nashville, a.k.a. music city?

started a new book - the first in the pendragon series. so far, it's moving a wee bit too fast, but then - i think that is sort of the point. i mean, this kid is thrown into totally unexpected circumstances, and that is the plot so far, so moving fast is probably a device meant to make the reader feel as overwhelmed as the main character, but unless it slows down & some explanations are given, it will just become tiring, no fun at all. we shall see, eh? the last book i tried, i didn't like, and i just quit reading it. life it too short to waste time on leisure that is not leisurely. i didn't even put that one on the list. read a few pages, and found it to be pretentious. every line had the feel of an inside joke i was not in on. so, i showed that author - i didn't read another line! ha!

11 November 2008

random

so, here is something i would like to know - if you leave non-alcoholic wine, a.k.a. grape juice, sitting around for long enough, would it ferment & become alcoholic? and, seriously, what is the diff b/t non-alcoholic wine & grape juice? nothing, right?

found this in the news today - "However, the plan amounts to burdening taxpayers with all of AIG's losses while still leaving shareholders and even management with a slice of any upside." why? why? why?

my house is currently zillowing at $300k. wow. just... wow.

there once was a girl named molasses
who could not see without glasses.
she moved really slow -
she was scared, don't ya know,
of falling down flat on her asses!

another question - is the prince of wales the ruler over the size of the stripes in corderoy pants?

in conclusion - claxton fruit cake, in case you forgot what it looked like.

::pouting::

the game was going great. we were already up 3-0. i had several nice plays and was really feeling in the rhythm. we - the defense - were moving up the field in support of the offense when something hit me in the back of the calf. like, someone threw a rock at me, and hit me right in the middle of the calf. i turned around to see who was back there throwing freakin' rocks, and there was no one there. uh-oh. i turned around and went down on all fours. i could not walk. something had popped in my calf. that was the feeling - it was on the inside, not the outside. cramp? no, it would not stretch out and there was no knot or cramp. but, i could not take a full step - could not step forward onto my toes. my old man looked it up when i got home, and it's a textbook calf strain. the pop feeling, the not being able to take a step without pain feeling. ::sigh:: ::pout:: stupid calf. moo.

ace goes to the grocery

had a nice trip to the grocery store this afternoon. except for the freakin' crowd of people there. did the go-to-the-grocery alarm sound, or what? got some more graham crackers, so don't worry about that. didn't see the claxton fruit cake display this week. that does not bode well for the holiday season, if they are sold out already. hope that they simply moved it, and i just missed it. last week, the egg nog was in the cooler, and this week, it was joined by the boiled custard. mmm - boiled custard! that is a treat. if you have not had it, you have no right to deny its treatiness. mmm. mmm.

when i first get to the grocery & am getting my cart, or basket, or baskcart, or buggy, or whatev the hula you call it - i always look for one without the crunched up pieces of wax paper that indicate that the previous user was snacking while shopping. not that you cannot snack without the paper, and not that you cannot snack w/ paper and not leave it in the cart, but if you don't even take your trash out of the cart, well, that's just icky. and, so you are gross. and, i don't want your basket.

you know what they need on baskets? cup holders. they have them somewhere... i think it was in tx when i was there a couple years back... maybe that was it. a place to set your beverage while shopping. very convenient, and it's not like someone's going to run off w/ it or something. i mean, it was bolted to the cart. here's a sort of fuzzy pic of one for your sort of fuzzy enlightenment.

for those of you who were searching for my wish list

apparently, i wish for little. nice, huh?

- xylophone
- label maker - the old school punchie kind
- running shoes
- pull-over college sweatshirt for wearing to work on fridays
and, let's not forget the TREEHOUSE!

today's 16-mile run didn't go quite as expected. had to do a little bit more walking than planned, but hey - they say you burn more fat by going more slowly, so there you have it. i'm a fatburning machine!

this weekend is bill paying time. i am thinking of leaving the task until tomorrow. maybe take care of it while watching the titans game. whatta ya think?

07 November 2008

fry dai

the g-o-p is throwing sarah palin under the bus. just sayin'.

tomorrow i shall run 16 miles. this shall be my last long run before the marathon type event for which i am registered. most training plans recommend at least 3 runs of over 18 miles. i shall not be following these training plans. i really don't see what could possibly go wrong with my plan. plus, after i return home, i shall eat graham crackers. yay!

did i mention i finished what is mine by anne holt? well, i did. towards the end, the translation became slightly smoother, but overall, it was still awkward. the dialog was especially stilted, and the subtleties of the plot were virtually lost. really, the translation was a shame because i am fairly certain the story was good.

you know the obamas have picked out a puppy to have in the white house. barack said he might get a shelter dog - "a lot of shelter dogs are mutts, like me". really, he said that. coolcool. here's the thing about having a puppy in the white house - i bet you get to have all the fun w/ the puppy and don't have to do any of the work. someone is there to care for the dog, and you can simply play with him. nice, huh?

this weekend, vandy plays florida. good luck with that, 'dores. right. okay, so we can write that one off as a vandy loss. u-t plays wyoming, for u-t's homecoming. u-t can look for a win there, i would think. titans go to chi-town to play da bears, and that should be a win, too. you never know, though, after 8 wins in a row, there is always the possibility of a let-down. and, your opponents are really keyed up to play you. in other sports news, soccer tournament begins sunday - first round of a single-elimination tournament - a must-win situation! go green!

ah. aces.

good lines from law & order - and maybe some other stuff

i saved you some good lines from law & order... they were good at the time, at least. hrm. might not still be funny now. you be the judge.
-- you got a problem with capitalism, move to cuba.
-- i didn't mean to lie. i just didn't want to get in trouble.
-- you should see about getting some counseling.
-- calm down. you are not in your firehouse.
-- this was a consensual competition between two amateurs.
-- we'd better find a way to prosecute these hooligans.
-- charging three brawlers with terrorism isn't justice.
-- you throw in with the gang - you own what they do.
-- public violence is a political statement.
-- when we no longer believe we live in a safe society - then we live in terror.

did you like 'em? yeah, maybe you had to be there.

what IS it about graham crackers these days? i cannot get enough of them. really wondering what is the deal there. am i missing essential graham in my diet? what is graham, anyway?

saw an ad for ford trucks. the ad stated that october is ford truck month. now, firstly, it is no longer october. have they extended october? i heard today that ford stock is down to $2/share. have you heard the saved by 0 toyota commershal? sheesh. it is wearing me out, and it looks like they are going to extend it for a few more wks. according to an article in the paper today, i am not the only one annoyed by it. there is a veritable outpouring of annoyance. they must be counting on no publicity is bad publicity b/c they are getting nothing but bad pub over this ad.

not running tomorrow. have run 4 miles 4 days this wk. yay me. will probably run saturday... maybe as much as 16 miles. may also go see mini-me, but might not do that. hrm.

05 November 2008

not going to wait & see

so, my guy didn't win. that is a-okay. i am not going to pout, whine, or sit around waiting for obama to make some grand mistake. we have a new president-elect, and he is barack obama. i am going to get on board, support him as our president, get invested in his ideas. there's really no other way to make the system work but to work within it.

let the change begin!

it will all be over tomorry

don't know what was up with the poem from earlier today. haven't quite sorted that out yet. will have to get back w/ you on that one.

the best thing about election day is that it will be over tomorry. one way or the other - one candidate or the other - it will be over, and we can get on with the business of living. for prigzample, soon it will be the holiday season. looking around the beanarium this evening, one might think it is already the holiday season. the tree is up, the banners are up, the stars are hanging from the ceiling. whatevs, beanarium! it's a wee bit early, dontcha think?

hey, gotta go watch beavis take a bath on skype! hey, it's not weird, it's cute, so you can shutzenzie!!

as yet unfinished bidness

don't kiss me with your crawdaddy lips.
don't sashay in with your bayou hips.
don't come 'round here with your banshee wails,
and your muscat wine, and your heartbreak tails.

cause i ain't the one that did you in.
i ain't the one who.........

my shoe bag smells like feet. what is up with that?

spotted on the web and hoping to find a place to use: "I believe it is somewhat disingenuous to cite yourself as an institutional endorsement and then reference a 3rd party site rather than your own for 'authentification'."

authentification. heh.

ate a good bit of hollereen candy today. almost pulled out a filling chewing now-&-laters. if i had pulled out a filling, i woulda filed a worker's comp claim. someone at work brought the candy, left it out for all to share. it was a work thing, hence the worker's comp claim. you know you prigree with me. beginning now, i am officially done with hollereen candy. [any candy eaten hereinafter shall be deemed thanksgiving candy, until further notice.]

tomorrow is election day, but me & my old man already voted. yay! tomorrow, starbux is giving a free cup of coffee to anyone who has voted. to paraphrase their website - if you live in a state that does not provide proof of having voted, they will provide the free coffee on the honor system. honor-schmonor! let's visit 'em all! free coffee all day!

didja hear phil fulmer resigned today, as of the end of the season? clearly, the vols are not winning, but they will be hard pressed to find a man who loves the school the way that man loves the school. hard pressed to find a man who will give his life to the team like that man did. i realize something had to give - the team was not winning - but i don't know that they are going to be any better off with someone new. i predict they will go through 3 coaches in the next 5 years.

yesterday i ran 14 miles. well, walked some, but still... that's a loooong way!

gingerbread poptarts are back! and, as good as ever. in other food cabinet news - i finished off the graham crackers, and they didn't have any at the store yesterday. i mean - they had graham crackers, but not the kind i like. so, i could use some. although i ate a whole pack today, so maybe not more today. tomorrow. bring me some tomorrow.

just passing around the channels, and we saw this show: frankie valli: tribute on ice. now, it wasn't actual frankie on the ice, although he was there singing. he & about 20 backup singers & a band were performing his hits, and young men & ladies were ice skating to the music. probably the most contrived show ever.

titans won today - 8-0. crappy green team won - tied for 1st place on the season, tourney starts next week. yay teams!

the weather is pretty. want to go outside?

happy new month!

there should be a rule on youtube that if what you are posting is a video taken with your phone in the car of your kid singing along with the radio, that when you post this video, your computer will blow up.
