currently reading the merchant of death, #1 in the pendragon series by d.j. machale. it's okay - fairly well written. the plot holds together. the characters are realistic. the dialog is solid enough. the problem is that i don't like this kind of book. it's about a group of folks called travelers who travel through time & space via "flumes" and right the wrongs of the universe. this kid, bobby pendragon, is a traveler and doesn't know it before the story begins. it's about his learning what his role is. so, for this genre, it's a good book. i probably won't read the whole series, though.

the halftime show of superbowl xliii - 1 february 2009 - will be bruce springsteen. i am not a huge bruce fan. most of his songs sound the same to me, but i am sure he will put on a good show.
