still tracking barometric pressure... no closer to understanding it.

after tiger's knee injury got him on the topic -- the local dj was taking calls from folks with artificial joints & limbs. woman w/ artificial knee calls in & says there is no way you can run w/ an artificial knee. yet, we have all seen those amazing runners who have prosthetic legs. so, if you've had knee replacement, you have to give up running, but if you have had an entire leg replaced, not merely the knee, you can run. sounds like if you want to run, and have a serious knee problem, you should say - let's just forget the artificial knee, whack off the entire leg & give me one of those fancyschmancy ones that will allow me to run.

thoughts?

gratuitous shakespeare quote - and sleep, that sometimes shuts up the sorrow's eye, steal me awhile from mine own company. can you name the play? character? act? scene? discuss the fascinating concept of being stolen away from one's own company.

today is the first day of summer - the longest day of the year in this hemisphere. the hippy dippy weatherman was giving us the weather, man, and he listed different times the sun will set in different cities in different time zones on this, the longest day of the year. he mentioned that in barrow, alaska, the sun will set august 2. that's right - it will be day for days in barrow.

this picture demonstrates the soltices & equinoxes. too bad it is too small to read, eh?

current barometric pressure: 30.00 inches.
