here's what's wrong with the political system in the usa... well, one thing that is wrong with it... in order to get the recognition of a party, and rise in the ranks of a party, a candidate in the present 2-party system is forced into a black&white stance to show party loyalty by toeing the party line. that hard line eliminates the finer distinctions, or even similarities, between the parties. the nuances are lost, and we are left with glaring polarizations.

there are myriad issues & simply not enough time for citizens to investigate them all, so we rely on media outlets which in turn rely on the parties for the message. but, there is never enough time to communicate the party platform, much less the details behind the planks of the platform.

plus, the freakin' candidates are highly skilled at spin & debate, so how can you trust 'em? yeah... they are trained at that sharky stuff because - you know - they are lawyers. [heh heh heh]
