taxed to the limit

if someone comes to you for information, and you give that someone information in the form of multitudinous helpful inputs collected by yourself -- onto pages both handwritten & typed -- collected through the years in your job & your previous jobs and on paper placed neatly in folders, and you entrust that person to copy said infomration & return it to you in the state which you gave it to them -- and keep in mind that you owe this person NOTHING -- would you think that this person would/could/SHOULD restaple the pieces in each folder that were stapled?

yes. yes, you would be within your rights to expect that.

at this point, having been returned the materials in such a sorry state, you might begin to wonder what is missing from the lot -- b/c you do not have an inventory, you simply have the information on papers in folders -- b/c who needs an inventory? who suspects that others will treat the information so carelessly?

remember, this person came to you to ask for help. remember, this person received help from you in the form of myriad helpful documents on a plethora of subjects. remember, you owed this person no prior favors & could in fact make a case that this person already owed you favors.

what are a few staples, you ask? why get so upset over a few staples?

ah, if you have to ask that... see... you have missed the point.

and, i am betting you did not miss the point, and you know exactly where i am coming from here.
