fishing for clarity in the well of fallen light

just watched the band arcade fire on austin city limits. quite impressive. complex melodies, wide - very wide - variety of instruments, but most impressive is the energy level. they play hard, play long, play loudly, & play standing. they sweat - a lot. they dance & get the audience dancing. the music is intriguing. the performance is igniting. this is a band to watch.

watching the titans play jacksonville, and the titans are not looking too sharp so far. haynesworth is hurt, and he is a major factor on the defense. it is like the jags are playing at a higher speed than the titans. one thing on the broadcast that is looking sharp -
ed hochuli's guns.

in other news: still plodding through carr's the alienist. it is becoming more interesting, but the archaic writing style is difficult to digest quickly. i am sure he is trying to mimic the language patterns prevelant in the late 19th century in which the story is set, but it makes for slow going.

today's run: 2 miles in 17:52. baby steps, eh?
