speaking of horses, did you realize the belmont stakes was today? the kentucky derby's always a big hooptiehoo. the preakness is the second triple crown race, and it attracts attention on the chance that the ky derby winner will win the preakness and setup the chance of the triple crown. if the ky derby winner doesn't win the preakness, then the belmont stakes is virtually ignored. the entire rest of the world that's not involved in horse racing doesn't give a horse's hoof about anything except the possible triple crown.
