intersecting

here at our intersections, we are continually selecting from the options: go straight, make a turn, pause to let another have the right of way, stop altogether to see which way they all go.

here at our intersections, we are all together meeting, yet ironically [and with a nod to the trite], we are alone. together we travel; alone we choose.

here at our intersections, we see our samenesses & our differences - highlighted in the blinking redyellowgreen traffic signals. we read the signals & the samenesses & the differences, and we imagine we form a deeper understanding of each other, a knowledge, a wisdom.

here at our intersections,
our paths cross,
but our lives continue separately.
