of toenails & service

advice on cutting toenails... if one is, say, preparing for a night out, and one is taking ones time. perhaps one has on the sink a cup of coffee one is enjoying while preparing for the night out. if one is cutting toenails, it would behoove one to take care so as to not flick or fling toenails into ones coffee. just sayin'.

have you ever seen the movie bicentennial man? makes one wonder about machines & emotions, thinking & feeling, n'est-ce pas? oui, it do. watching it right now, and it's odd how andrew, the robot played by robin williams, is like dobby from harry potter. both refer to themselves as "one" - as in, "one wishes to cook dinner." or whatever. also, both are totally all about serving. "one wishes to be of service," andrew says over & over. they are both constantly looking to please their masters. also, neither wears clothing, and to both, clothing symbolizes acceptance by humans. to dobby, clothing provides freedom from slavery. to andrew, it's not a freedom from service that clothing provides, but a different sort of dignity. later, after he has had clothing for a dozen years, andrew wishes freedom, but dobby understands freedom immediately upon receiving clothing. both, after obtaining freedom, continue to serve.

perhaps i am overanalyzing this, eh? at any rate, the toenail advice... that is solid.
