let's start paying attention

what the hula is barometric pressure & how does it relate to the weather as i experience the weather? the current bp is 29.75 inches. right.... inches of what? i do know that if it's falling - heading to lower pressure - that translates to a risk of storms. rising = higher pressure = fair weather. when the pressure is high, other air systems cannot move into the area. when the pressure is low, systems roar in to fill the space - bringing rough air, lightning, etc.

when the pressure is "low" the ceiling is "high", and vicie versie. that confuses me b/c each sort of makes an opposite picture in my mind. you know - "low" & "high" being opposites and all. this nice meter here would help, eh?

so, let's start paying attention. barometric pressure. it's 29.75 inches & fair outside. duly noted.
