unfinished poetry

if i asked you to wait on the shore
while i swam far out in the sea
would you wait for an hour or more
just to be there for me?

if i asked you to wait in the woods
while i hiked away over the hill
would you wait thru rain & floods
to be there for me still?

if i asked you to wait by the road
while i drove away in a car
would you wait ....
