here we are in the middle of golf & nascar & baseball seasons, with football heating up. tennis: us open. track & field: world meets in osaka. deer & dove seasons start in the next couple weeks. high school & college - cross country, soccer, volleyball. sports, sports, & more sports. what does the local paper choose as the lead story for the sports section? titans tatoos. that's right - above-the-fold color picture feature story on the team's tatoos. i got nothin' against tatts. seriously, it's all good, man. whatever. the problem is that this is the feature of the eensie-teensie sports section -- a section whose stories already give short shrift to the big time sports, not to mention college or high school sports.
